Ways to Serve

“We love because God first loved us.”

1 John 4:19

Within Our Church

Worship Assisting: We are currently offering a hybrid service. We have opportunities available to assist with our Sunday service both in person or online. These are weekly opportunities. We are still working our way back from the pandemic and are only offering a a handful of opportunities (Greeters, Readers, Communion Assisting, Communion Setup/Clean up) at this time. We may add more as we move forward.

Altar Guild: Changing the paraments on the altar for each season or festival and helping with flower donations if needed.

Tech Team: We have opportunities for helping to run our hybrid service. These are weekly opportunities. They include running our presentation and streaming it on zoom, operating the camera in the church for the people at home to see what is going on and adjusting the audio mixer.

Hospitality Host: We have a “coffee” social that takes place after services on Sunday. These are weekly opportunities. We usually like to have 2 people or a family run this together.

We have many groups and committees that serve different ministries within the church you can become a part of. We have:

  • Church Council
  • Property Committee
  • Worship & Music
  • Foundation
  • Outreach
  • Tech Committee
  • Christian Formation
  • Youth Ministry
  • Knitting Group
  • Redeemer Women
  • …and more.

Beyond Our Walls

The Dwelling Place

Dwelling Place is a soup kitchen that serves out of the United Methodist Church in Woburn. This is an ongoing mission that we support. We serve here on the first Monday of each month (12 time a year). We provide a free meal to people in need in the Woburn community. We make the food, package it and distribute it.

Common Cathedral

Common Cathedral is a ministry in Boston that has an outdoor worship service on Sundays on the Boston Common. People from all walks of life come through to join the service. We usually serve once or twice a year. When we participate in this, we will provide sandwiches, snacks, drinks, fruit etc. to the needy and homeless. In December we usually do a winter clothing drive of new, like new used coats, hats, gloves/mittens to donate to those in need.

We use an online portal to post our available signups.
