What We Believe

Our six core values that we hold sacred are built upon what we believe as a community of faith. Those beliefs are centered in a loving God. We believe, that in Jesus, God became human. Jesus was fully divine and fully human and bore our human condition, in order to save us from sin and death and restore us to a right relationship with God. Jesus came to make known God’s love and grace to our broken and seeking world. The ultimate symbol of that love is the Cross, where Jesus was crucified, and gave his life for the sake of the world. In Christ we enjoy grace, mercy, freedom, and new life which we center around the life-giving waters of our baptism.

We read the Bible through the lens of God’s grace. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and recorded by faithful people. It is the story of God and God’s people – the story of God’s great love for us. When we read the Bible we become part of the story. For us, the heart of the biblical message is the good news that Jesus Christ died and rose again to bring us into relationship with God. That relationship gives hope, comfort, and purpose to our lives.

Worship and love of neighbor are at the heart of our community. In worship we experience God together as we sing songs, read passages from the Bible, hear God’s word preached, connect the Bible lessons with daily life, and receive Holy Communion at God’s table. We support one another in our daily vocations, knowing that love of neighbor happens in our daily lives and at our daily work.

And we trust in the promises of God, given to us, and all God’s children without exception.

Our 6 Core Values

We are Christ-Centered

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He came to make God’s love and grace known to our world.

We Inspire Families

We believe that inspiring and supporting families at every stage of their faith journey is at the heart of our calling.

We Are Inclusionary

We believe that in God’s eyes we all are equal, and honor this by accepting and loving everyone unconditionally.

We Are Grace-Oriented

We believe God’s grace is always present in our lives, and that it is our responsibility to share that Grace with the world.

We Fight Poverty

We believe that poverty in all of its forms (Health, Wealth, and Spirit) is the root cause of most societal problems, and actively seek ways to lift up those in need.

We Are Moving Forward

We believe taking risks and trying new things helps us to better serve others.
