Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Cindy Jacobsen loves to smile. She smiles because she knows God’s love and grace will always find a way to us. In spite of the broken shards of a world seeming to fall in on itself, she sees God creating something new in each one of us, using our broken pieces to create beauty. Like the world, she knows the church is not a perfect place, just a place to gather support and in our re-created beauty to shine the light of God, through Christ, in all we say and do.
Pastor Cindy Jacobsen began her ministry at Redeemer on January 29, 2014. Pastor Jacobsen holds a BA in Music from the University of Wisconsin-GreenBay, a Master of Divinity from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN, and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She was ordained into the ELCA on August 3, 1986 and has served churches in South Dakota and Ontario (where she was on the clergy roster of the ELCIC.) In addition to her congregational ministry, Pastor Jacobsen has served in specialized ministry in counseling agencies and private practice in Tennessee and Ontario as a Pastoral Counselor and Marriage and Family therapist.
She is married to Rev. Dr. David Jacobsen and they have two adult children, Christian and Grace…and a cat named Patches.
