Little Hands, Big Hearts has been established by the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer to provide a pre-school experience for children in and around the community. Our Christian-based philosophy and curriculum are guided by an understanding of the children’s individual differences and developmental needs. Our aim is to provide a safe and nurturing environment, guided by love to encourage the growth of physical, social, emotional, and knowledge development of young children while responding to the needs of their families.
Little Hands, Big Hearts Preschool offers two, three, and five days classes from 9:00AM to 12:00PM Monday through Friday for nursery, preschool and pre-kindergarten. A pre-kindergarten transitional class is offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We follow the Woburn Public Schools calendar. School year is 35 weeks.
Philosophy
Children are encouraged in small classes through art, music, science, language, and social studies to realize their creative and imaginative abilities. Physical development is also an important part of the program. Our ultimate goal is to have each child feel a sense of accomplishment in self-help tasks, comfortable in group situations, and anxious for the Kindergarten experience ahead.
Little Hands, Big Hearts Preschool is multi-service, non-profit, nondenominational facility committed to serving the diverse needs of young children 2.9 to 6 years of age. We welcome children of all races and ethnic backgrounds. Little Hands, Big Hearts Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, national origin, marital status and sexual orientation or disability.
Staff
Our teachers hold Office for Child Care Services certification as well as Department of Education license, and certificates in First Aid. All are knowledgeable in the Christian Faith and have on going training about child development. Our staff enjoy working and being with children and are warmly responsive to their needs.
The director of Little Hands, Big Hearts Christian Preschool is Mary Ann Onessimo. She meets informally with each parent to give a personal tour, discuss our program, and remains available after a child has been admitted to answer any questions.
