Summer Sojourn Youth Mission Trip, July 17-23
For the first time, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer is taking the youth group on a summer mission trip. Working with The Pittsburgh Project, we will be rolling up our sleeves for homeowners in the city. The Pittsburgh Project is a nonprofit community development organization with a 25-year track record of developing leaders and serving the city’s most vulnerable residents.
What does it mean to become a Sojourner?
Many youth groups go on a mission trip every summer. Most have a good time and many come home with a new perspective on life. What happens in one week during the summer can change you forever. To become a Sojourner is to go beyond the hard work of a mission trip and experience life in someone else’s shoes for a short period of time. In our busy lives of school, sports, dance, arts, work, church...( I could go ON!) we find it hard to slow down and focus on one thing for very long. During our week in Pittsburgh we will focus on one thing: helping out God’s family. And since there are so many ways in which we can do that task, it should turn out to be one interesting trip!
