Knitting Ministry

prayer_shawlOur Purpose

To give Redeemer members and others in the community who knit or crochet an opportunity to use their skills to warm and comfort those in need.

Our core commitments are:

Prayer Shawls, a prayerful ministry

Shawls are provided to those in need of comfort and solace to members and friends of Redeemer.  Winchester Hospital is also a recipient of our prayer shawls for distribution to patients.

Afghans for Veterans

Last year we sent completed afghans to the VA Hospital for which there is an ongoing need.  The afghans were made in strips and patches – a good way for all to participate in each afghan.

Knitting for Angels Group

This organization collects and distributes items to needy children worldwide.  Baby and child-sized items such as hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters and blankets are called for.

So you see – there’s a project to fit your fancy and skill level!  Won’t you join us?  Beginners welcome!  Our knitters and crocheters are all too happy to lend a hand if needed.  We also have patterns and yarn to share.  If you aren’t able to come to the meetings please consider being a part of our ministry by working on projects at home.

For more information call or e-mail Hazel Lambert or come to one of our meetings – 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm.
